It is with great sorrow we share news of Nick Simon’s passing on June 10, 2016. Simon served on the Foundation board beginning in 2000, including serving as our development committee chair. He was 57 years old, the CEO of Publishers Printing in Shepherdsville, a remarkable philanthropist and outstanding member of our community.

Simon was a long-time supporter both of LFPL and the Bullitt County Library, along with numerous other causes in both Jefferson and Bullitt counties. He was a Sustainer for the Foundation and endowed the Charles Glass Scholarship for library staff. In 2003, he was named the Greater Louisville Philanthropist of the Year.

The Pioneer News wrote that Nick “was known more for his generosity than any wealth he may have earned. He truly had a philanthropic spirit and enjoyed giving to any group or individual who sought assistance.”
