Endowed Funds

The Children’s Programs Endowment was established by a Library Foundation board member in 2001 to supplement children’s programming, including the Summer Reading program.

The Scholarship Endowment was established by the Library Foundation board of directors to ensure the Louisville Free Public Library has the best qualified staff of librarians.  The Library Foundation funds scholarships for library employees who are pursuing a degree in Library Science. Any size gift may be made to the Scholarship Endowment. Endowed Scholarship funds may be named for individual donors for a minimum gift of $25,000.

The New Book Endowment campaign (1987-1992) raised $6 million and continues to add significantly to LFPL’s collections. New Book Endowment gifts are not being solicited by the Library Foundation, but donors may designate their gifts for the purchase of books.
