A strong library begins with a strong collection. An adequately funded library collection is essential to timely, equitable access. Metro’s Million Dollar Match—combined with community giving through the Library Foundation—will create a one-time $2 million investment to add more copies of high-demand physical and digital titles, reducing long wait times that frustrate readers and disproportionately limit access to some of Louisville’s most vulnerable patrons. Every dollar delivers immediate, community-wide impact and helps keep library services relevant, responsive, and free—so more Louisvillians can rely on their public library instead of turning to paid alternatives.
