Parents and children filled Southwest Regional Library on Saturday morning for the annual Share a Story event in Louisville.
The morning of activities included book readings, awards and crafting, along with a free book give-away and a writing contest. This year, four students shared their award-winning essays on the theme “Inspired by Ali: How I give Back to My Community.”
The event is a collaboration between the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) and the Courier-Journal and is designed to highlight literacy in young people. In addition to Southwest Library, there were also events at the downtown branch of the Louisville Free Public Library and at the Jeffersonville Township Public Library.
